As our Summer timetable comes to an end and our summer flying teams enjoy a well-earned rest, our Autumn flying displays take centre stage.
These seasonal displays feature some of our colder-climate birds, perfectly suited to the changing weather. So don’t worry — there’s still plenty to enjoy!
🦅 We’ll continue to encourage our eagles to soar, our owls to swoop, and our caracaras to show off their curious personalities all within two brilliant daily flying displays.
🌦️ Weather Aware Displays
Our flying displays are carefully planned around the weather to ensure the safety and welfare of our birds, while still delivering an exciting experience for our visitors. Wrap Up Warm: All displays take place outdoors, and autumn weather can be a little chilly. We recommend dressing warmly for your visit.
Warm Up With Us. Don’t worry if there’s a nip in the air — hot drinks are available from our snack bar to help keep you cosy while you enjoy the displays.

We’re thrilled to unveil a brand new display here at Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre — a show like nothing you’ve seen before.
Step into a world of ancient folklore, tales and legends, brought to life through the incredible movement of our feathered friends. Watch as some of our beautiful owls, vultures and caracaras take flight — or dash across the arena — as each story unfolds.

See birds from all across the globe! Enjoy the experience of watching and getting up close to our birds of prey demonstrating their natural behaviour in this intriguing display. You will be amazed as you experience, close up, the incredible skills of our eagles and enjoy seeing pairs of owls demonstrate their ability to fly silently as they skim through the audience. See the Striated Caracara show its preferred colour and our naughty Turkey Vultures skimming over our audience. Watch as our Stellers Sea Eagles take to the sky.
This demonstration is fun for all ages especially children.
All displays are weather dependent and subject to change due to the weather conditions on the day and the centres commitments.
Get even closer to some of our smaller feathered friends in this popular, hands-on experience at Thirsk Birds of Prey Centre.

Handle two selected birds during one of our dedicated sessions and enjoy a truly up-close experience. Learn all about each bird you meet and feel free to ask our knowledgeable bird staff as many questions as you like.
Species may include Barn Owls, Kestrels, Hawks, and Falcons depending on daily commitments.
⚠️ Booking is essential on arrival as spaces are limited and this experience is very popular.
🎟️ Tickets are purchased at reception and are non-refundable. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early at the meeting point.
