Half Day Eagle Experience

Throughout the experience, emphasis is “hands on” and you will be given the chance to handle and fly 6 different eagles.

Your day starts at 10.30am when you will be met by our bird staff and taken to a private area. You will then be given a safety talk on what to expect and how to handle the eagles safely. We will have a brief look at the equipment that is used to safely fly and handle these powerful eagles giving you the time to ask any questions.

You will then meet and handle one of our smaller eagles weighing approximately 4lbs before testing your strength at handling one of our larger eagles weighing at 12lbs. Don’t worry there is plenty of opportunity to take memorable photographs.

We will then give you a short-guided tour of where our eagles call home, no doubt you will be greeted by our team of eagles where you will hear the cackle of the Bald Eagle, the cry of the African Fish Eagle and the roaring bark of the mighty Stellers Sea Eagle. You will also be introduced to the largest species of eagle, our Steller’s Sea Eagles, Hokkiado and Toruk. (as seen on The Yorkshire Vet TV Programme). We will then take a short break for the 11:30am flying display.

The second half of the experience will start by flying a smaller bird to ensure you are comfortable and prepared for the breath-taking experience of having eagles from around the world landing on the end of your arm, finishing with one of the world’s most iconic species of eagle, the magnificent Bald Eagle.

You are likely to meet a Common Buzzard, Chilean Blue Eagle,  African Tawny Eagle, White Tailed Eagle, Golden Eagle and Bald Eagle on this experience.
The experience will finish in time for the 1.30pm flying display which you are welcome to stay and watch.

The day begins at 10.30am and finishes at approximately 1.15pm. The bird staff will be on hand to ensure you have an enjoyable and special day at the Centre and an experience you will never forget.
